Deep Run Hunt Pony Club is a registered club of the United States Pony Clubs, Inc., the leading junior equestrian organization in the world. The United States Pony Club, Inc. (USPC) was organized as a nonprofit national youth horsemanship organization in February 1954. The USPC founders were enthusiastic foxhunters who recognized the need for an organization to provide sound instruction for all interested youngsters, especially those who otherwise could not afford expensive lessons.

The DRHC Pony Club Horse Trials

DRHPC Horse Trials takes place annually on the third Saturday in April at the Deep Run Hunt Horse Show Grounds, in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia. DRHPC HT is an unrecognized event that offers introductory through training level classes. Entries open in early March and close the week before the scheduled event. Cross Country Schooling Days are offered each spring and fall.

Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation Open Barn and Tack Sale at James River Correctional Facility, Sunday, April 23rd, 10-2

“Adopt a Thoroughbred Day”
The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation at James River will be holding its 10th Annual Open Barn & Tack Sale at the James River Work Center on Sunday, April 23, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is open to the public. Visitors will be able to tour the facilities and meet the horses and their caretakers. The TRF and the men will honor the sponsors of the horses.

The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation at James River will be selling homemade baked goods, coffee and donuts, etc. and the bathrooms will be open.

And if you’d like to bring a canned good or pet food item to donate for Goochland Family Services as well, all the better!
